Sixty-seven employees at the North Carolina Disability Determination Services recently completed a supervisory skills training program that provided thirty-two hours (32) of custom-made training for mid-level and frontline supervisors and managers. (Part of the group is in the photo, above)
DHHS’s Recruitment, Engagement and Retention team, a part of DHHS Human Resources, proposed an initiative that provided training to DDS with a customized-focus to the specific workplace environment and needs of the DDS. The DDS Essentials of Supervision was a blended learning experience that took place over a 6-month period using models and material from DDI (Development Dimensions Incorporated), a global training organization currently under contract with the State of North Carolina and DHHS.
The training culminated with a graduation ceremony, held May 16 at the North Carolina Disability Determination Services offices. State DDS Administrator Mike Kaess and Manager of Recruitment, Retention and Engagement Nina Davit presented the certificates to the graduates.
