The deadline for submission of nominees for the 2013 Governor’s Awards for Excellence to DHHS Division of Human Resources is July 31.
Each year the program recognizes state employees for outstanding achievement in state government service. This year’s awards include a new category, Customer Service, and the Innovations category has been expanded to Efficiency and Innovations. The changes reflect the priorities and direction of the new administration. Other award categories are: Human Relations, Outstanding State Government Service, Public Service, Safety and Heroism, and Spirit of North Carolina.
Within DHHS routing for nominations for individuals or teams includes the local human resources office and division-level leadership. Check with your human resources office for specifics for your work unit. For additional details contact your local HR office or go to the Office of State Personnel’s web page: www.osp.state.nc.us/Reward/recognize/govaward.htm.
Nominees must be permanent state employees, including managers and administrators, who are subject to the State Personnel Act (SPA). While public school employees are not eligible for the award, educators who work for DHHS may be nominated. Nominees should have made major contributions reflecting credit on themselves and State service. The services or accomplishments must be so outstanding that special recognition is justified.
