Walkers from the Division of Medical Assistance took top honors in the Spring 2013 Miles for Wellness Challenge 7, logging 13.6 million steps to lead the Super Hare Division in the spring virtual coastal lighthouse tour. Two other DHHS teams rounded out the top three finishing teams in the category.

Philips led her teammates with 2,098,429 steps. The challenge provided state employees with another 60-day virtual tour “Move More” activity. The challenge began on March 14. State Personnel Director Neal Alexander congratulated Covey last month for his team’s accomplishment.
Other winning teams include 2nd place in Super Hares Division, Footloose, Central Regional Hospital in Butner; 3rd place, Super Hares Division, Pacemaker A, Murdoch Developmental Center, Butner; third place Hare Division, Steppers Against Doping (SAD), Central Regional Hospital; and Tortoise Division first place, Berry Trackers, O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment, Goldsboro; and second place, Tortoise Division Holey Walkamolies, O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment.
DHHS teams comprised 68 among the field of 117 teams.
