Completing the Medicaid reform process and improving mental health services in North Carolina are top priorities in 2014 for the Department of Health and Human Services, Secretary Aldona Wos told state health directors at their annual conference on Jan. 23. She plans to deliver details of medicaid reform to the General Assembly in March. She praised public health workers for their important contributions to the well-being of the people they serve. Gov. Pat McCrory, also addressing health directors, said his administration is working with higher education institutions in North Carolina to create a program to reduce addiction on campus.
