Are you up for the challenge? “Plymouth Pilgrimage: A Thanksgiving Trail,” is the twelfth Miles for Wellness Challenge event sponsored by the Office of State Human Resources. It runs from Oct. 5 to Nov. 29.
In honor of the first Thanksgiving in Plymouth, Mass., participants in the latest Miles for Wellness Challenge will be encouraged to virtually walk from one Plymouth town to the next across the United States, starting in Plymouth, N.C., and reaching other towns named Plymouth in Kentucky, Nebraska, California, Utah, Minnesota and completing the journey in Plymouth, Mass.
Registration for the event continues through Oct. 1. Exempt employees need to contact their local Division/Facility Wellness Representative for information about joining a Miles for Wellness team.
An NC Wellness program, the Miles for Wellness Challenge is a virtual, team-based walking initiative by and for North Carolina state employees. The eight-week challenge encourages employees to increase their physical activity by walking 10,000 steps, or five miles, most days of the week. Each challenge provides participants with a different virtual trail to walk.
