Register to Attend the G.R.E.A.T. Conference in Raleigh

Registration is open for the N.C. Assistive Technology Program/N.C. Rehabilitation Association G.R.E.A.T. Conference, which runs Nov. 4-6 at the North Raleigh Hilton.

This year’s theme, “Coming Full Circle,” recognizes several milestones in increasing awareness and accommodation for people with disabilities: the fourth annual G.R.E.A.T. conference, the 25th anniversary of the ADA, the N.C. Rehabilitation Association’s 60th training conference and the 90th anniversary of the National Rehabilitation Association.

Speakers for this year’s conference include Henry Evans, a quadriplegic who opens as keynote speaker Nov. 4, using a remote telepresence device from his home in Palo Alto, Calif.; DHHS Secretary Richard Brajer, who addresses an awards ceremony on Nov. 5; and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) architect Richard Pimentel, who is closing keynote speaker on Nov. 6.

Access to an exhibit hall of assistive technology and rehabilitation will be free to the public on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more details, visit www.ncrehab.org.
