Kristy Craig and SECC Chairman Bill Daughtridge launch DHHS Campaign
The DHHS 2014 State Employees Combined Campaign launched Wednesday at Haywood Gym on the Dix Campus in Raleigh as the state campaign chairman joined the department’s campaign leaders to encourage participation.
Department of Administration Secretary Bill Daughtridge Jr., who serves as chairman for the 2014 statewide campaign, encouraged the audience of DHHS employees to speak with the nonprofit representatives attending the gathering and to give to the campaign.
“It is often said that it is better to give than to receive, and I agree,” he said. “I think that is especially true when giving through the Combined Campaign. There are more than 1,000 agencies that you may designate your donations to through the Campaign.”
Kristy Craig, DHHS Department Executive for the 2014 Campaign, opened the kickoff by announcing that giving among the Leadership Team has already reached 100 percent, and that 80 percent of the Department’s division directors have already contributed.
Craig challenged those in attendance to help the department surpass last year’s $247,000 in donations. Following remarks, a light breakfast was served to the dozens of employees who lined up for the fare.
Throughout the campaign DHHS will host a website that will keep track of giving by work areas: division, offices and facilities. The web page and a video may be viewed at http://ncdhhs.gov/combinedcampaign/.
To facilitate giving, an email has been sent to employees that promotes the campaign and includes a unique link that provides access to the ePledge. The campaign runs through Thanksgiving.
