National Nutrition Month is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  The campaign is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

Key points:

  • Make fruits and vegetables half your plate.

  • Fruits and vegetables are:
    1.) Low in calories,
    2.) Full of essential nutrients,
3.) Can help reduce your risk of chronic diseases, and
    4.) High in fiber.

  • Make fruits and vegetables half your plate at every meal and for every snack.

  • Fresh, frozen, dried, canned - it all counts.

  • Shake things up by enjoying a variety of colors to stay healthy and fit. Your body will thank you.
